Washington Sunder smashed his maiden test century with Ravindra Jadeja, who also scored a century. At the end of the final day of the 4th test was a draw. Despite slipping behind by 311 runs at the beginning of their second innings, India was able to keep alive the Test match in a close draw. India kept going, batting through five sessions for their 425/4, guaranteeing that the last match at The Oval would be the series decider.

Courage under extreme stress was shown by Shubman Gill, who led the rescue with a cool 103, his fourth century of the series. Excellent support was provided by KL Rahul, who scored a crucial 90 before being removed by Ben Stokes, the injured captain of England.

After the 4th test match draw, India need to win the 5th and final test match at The Oval on 31st July. The 5-match test series is now led by England by 2-1. The result of the 4th match will give the confidence to India for the last test match.
